I disagree. I've used services like the one you mention before and was happy with the results. I'm sure some of them might be scams, but if you're getting the info you need its worth a few bucks.

Also, white pages and search engines don't work for cell phones because the numbers are unlisted.

Have you tried www.whitepages.com yet? That might give you something.

There are legitimate sources, but you aren't going to identify a cell phone number for $15. We have scoured the web for legitimate cell phone reverse sites and have found that a company out of Canada called http://www.cellulartrace.com can identify any US or Canadian cellular number. Their prices start as $45, and that is the cheapest price on the web.

I would go with http://reversecellphonesearcher.com myself. I've used this website 4 times before and it's given me the correct information each time.

It too is around $15 for a single lookup and $40 for unlimited lookups. The information you get from a lookup includes name, address line information, carrier information and other background details which makes the lookup well worth the money (in my eyes).

http://reversecellphonesearcher.com has a 56 day guarantee which means that if you don't find the correct information, they will help you until you do... or your money back

I hope this helped...
