Happy New Year to everybody,

My question below is regarding the mobile numbers in Poland.
————
Is it possible to tell immediately to which company the mobile numbers belong?

For example, I have an Orange number begins with 51x-xxx-xxx
as well as an Era number starting with 78x-xxx-xxx.

Several of my friends who use Era also has number begin with 7-
A friend who owns an Orange number also begins 504-.

Do numbers belong to certain mobile company follow the similar pattern?

If you see a mobile in Poland starting with 79x, would you think it is an Era number?

Thank you very much.

No, it’s not possible. Europe has introduced "number portability", so you can’t tell by the dial-in code which company the number belongs to. Which is not actually important, as mobile telephony in Europe works on a "caller pays all" basis. There’s no such thing as airtime, where both parties pay. The recipient only has to pay for incomng calls when he leaves the country where the phone is registered, and even then, incoming calls can be blocked. You can only identify a Polish number by the international dial-up code, which is +48.
